Common Skin Problems

Large pores           Keep skin clean.  Debris can clog pores and can cause blackheads

and acne.  Exfoliate with products containing Salicylic Acid and

AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid), such as Glycolic Acid or Lactic Acid.

Apply Dermystique Tinted Blemish Treatment Lotion during the day

and Dermystique Poly-Rejuvenation Lotion at night.  For more

aggressive treatment, use Dermystique Advanced Action Formula.

Dermystique Exfoliating Complex, containing a high percentage of

                           AHA, exfoliates damaged skin.

Always fill pores with products before putting on a foundation.

Redness,

Rosacea                Cleanse with Dermystique Gentle Cleansing Foam.  Avoid "triggers",

such as spicy food, alcohol, sun exposure, and hot water.  Apply

Dermystique Antioxidant Elixir, Vitamin C and E Compound, and

Dermystique Soothe and Calm Masque.  Rosacea may require a

                           consultation with a medica specialist.

Adult acne             A common occurrence amongst women between 25 and 50.  As a

first step, wash with a mild cleansing agent, such as Dermystique

Gentle Cleansing Foam, several times a day, especially after

exercising.  Target individual blemishes A.M. and P.M. with a product

containing a high dose of Salicylic Acid, such as Dermystique Advanced

Action Formula.  Follow up with Dermystique Soothe and Calm Masque,

which will help dry out the blemishes and draw the impurities to the

surface.  To cover, use Dermystique Tinted Blemish Treatment Lotion.

When in the sun, always use a broad-spectrum sunscreen, such as

                           Dermystique Moisturizing Sunscreen SPF 30.

Severe acne           Acne is a chronic condition and needs to be controlled even after the

lesions subside.  Although Dermystique skin care products, which

contain high doses of Glycolic Acid and Salicylic Acid (ingredients of

choice against acne), can help improve and prevent blemishes and

acne, severe cases of acne, including cystic acne, requires the attention

of medical specialists who might recommend the use of systemic

                           or topical medications.

"Baggy" eyes          Lack of sleep and dehydration contribute to this symptom.  Drink

water before retiring for the night, elevate your head, and apply a

warm wash cloth to the eyes.  A.M., apply cold packs.  Use an eye

cream containing Hyaluronic Acid, Retinol, and peptides, e.g.,

Dermystique Eye Rejuvenation Creme with Retinol-Peptide Complex.

Hyper-

pigmentation,

blotch spots,

age spots,

uneven skin

tone                      Apply Dermystique Skin Lightening Cream over entire face.  Spot

treatment may result in a halo effect.  Apply Dermystique

Moisturizing Sunscreen SPF 30 when outdoors.

Dry skin                 Tends to be flaky and have fine wrinkles.  Is is often itchy and rough.

In wind and heat, it chaps easily.  Avoid hot water when cleansing.

Use Dermystique Eye Rejuvenation Creme with Retinol-Peptide

Complex around the eye areas and Dermystique Cell Regeneration

Creme Intensive with Kollacin for nighttime application.

Oily skin                 Tends to be shiny a few hours after washing.  It may break out and

shows a tendency towards blackheads and whiteheads.  Pores are

often coarse, especially in the T-zone (forehead, nose, cheeks, and

chin).  Do not wash too often.  Excessive cleansing may actually

increase oil production.  Use only oil-free products.  Apply Dermystique

Soothe and Calm Masque, which will remove excessive amounts of oil.

Sensitive skin          65% of the population think they have sensitive skin, although

most often it is traceable to the overuse of products, irritating

ingredients, such as Witch Hazel, and sulfates, most notably

Sodium Laureth/Lauryl Sulfate.  Truly sensitive skin is often irritated.

Reacts to harsh chemicals, preservatives, fragrances, Vitamin C, and

many botanicals.  May have Rosacea and burns easily.  Often

tolerates Lactic Acid but not Glycolic Acid (both AHA's).  Use

Dermystique Exfoliating Complex with 10% Lactic Acid (if tolerated),

Dermystique Gentle Cleansing Foam, and Dermystique Moisturizing

                            and Tightening Skin Formula.

Combination skin    May display oily characteristics in T-zone, otherwise skin may be

normal.  Use products recommended for oily skin on the T-zone, and

moisturizers, such as Dermystique Moisturizing and Tightening

Skin Formula with 5% Algae Extract, on the normal part of the skin.

Dark circles

under eyes               Use products containing Vitamin A, such as Dermystique Cell

Regeneration Creme Intensive, which contains Retinyl Palmitate

(Vitamin A), or Eye Rejuvenation Creme with Retinol-Peptide Complex.

Blackheads              Wash twice or three times a day with Dermystique Gentle Cleansing

Foam and once a day with Dermystique Stimulating Scrub with Oat

Protein.  Follow up with a product containing Salicylic Acid, such as

Dermystique Advanced Action Formula.  Since Salicylic Acid can dry out

                             skin, do not use excessively.

Fine lines and

wrinkles                   Cleanse face daily with a mildly exfoliating cleanser, such as

Dermystique Stimulating Scrub with Oat Protein.  Invigorate your skin

with antioxidants, such as Dermystique Cell Stimulant Formula with

Retinol-Peptide-Vitamin C Complex (for normal skin), Dermystique

Antioxidant Elixir, Vitamin C and E Compound (for dry skin), or

Dermystique Lifting Poly-Serum with Alpha Lipoic Acid 2% and Lactic

Acid 5%.  Follow up with an anti-aging cream, such as Dermystique

Anti-Wrinkle Creme Supreme with Retinol-Peptide Complex, and

Dermystique Eye Rejuvenation Creme with Retinol-Peptide Complex

around the eye areas.  For a nighttime product, use Dermystique Cell

Regeneration Creme Intensive with Kollacin, containing Retinyl

Palmitate (Vitamin A).  Always use a broad spectrum sunscreen,

SPF 15 or higher, during the day, preferably one containing

micronized Zinc Oxide.  Dermystique Moisturizing Sunscreen SPF 30

protects against UVA, UVB, and UVC rays and moisturizes the skin as

it is exposed to the drying sun.

Dull complexion       Sun damage and free radicals, such as smoke and pollution,

contribute to a dull complexion.  Dead skin cells need to be removed

before the conditons can improve.  Apply antioxidant products, such

as Dermystique Cell Stimulant Formula with Retinol-Peptide-Vitamin C

Complex (for normal skin), Dermystique Antioxidant Elixir, Vitamin C

and E Compound (for dry skin), or Dermystique Lifting Poly-Serum

to help repair the damage.  Follow with a thorough regimen of

exfoliation.  This will remove dead cells and allow new ones to

emerge, making for a youthful-looking, glowing skin.  Exfoliate the

skin with products containing AHA, such as Dermystique Exfoliating

Complex, containing 10% Lactic Acid.  This product is formulated for

all skin types and, in many cases, is even tolerated by sensitive skin.

To encourage regeneration of cells, especially in mature skin, apply

Dermystique Cell Regeneration Creme Intensive with Kollacin P.M.

Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF 15 or higher on a daily

basis.  Zinc Oxide is the ingredient of choice for protection against

UVA, UVB, and UVC rays.  Micronized Zinc Oxide with small molecules

penetrates the skin and does not leave a white film if rubbed in

vigorously.  Dermystique Moisturizing Sunscreen SPF 30 is ideally

suited to protect the skin and, at the same time, keep it hydrated

during sun exposure.  Dead skin cells contribute to a dull look of the

                             skin.

Environmentally

damaged skin          May show extensive sun damage, which causes the skin to be

unevenly pigmented, dull, and lifeless.  Normal skin often displays

these characteristics.  Exfoliate extensively, e.g., with Dermystique

Exfoliating Complex with 10% Lactic Acid.  Products with Retinol and/or

Lipoic Acid would also be beneficial.  Dermystique Eye Rejuvenation

Creme with Retinol-Peptide Complex, Dermystique Anti-Wrinkle

Creme Supreme with Retinol-Peptide Complex, and Dermystique

Lifting Poly-Serum with Alpha Lipoic Acid 2% and Lactic Acid 5%,

                             likewise, are helpful.

Blemished and

acneic skin               Usually feels oily and greasy.  It may break out frequently,

sometimes continously, and may form small pustules that can result

in scarring and hyperpigmentation, which, in later years, can result

in granny spots or age spots.  Frequently, it shows blackheads and

enlarged pores.  Makeup, typically, does not stay on well.  Use mild

cleansers, such as Dermystique Gentle Cleansing Foam, A.M., P.M.,

and after strenuous physical exercises.   Follow a continuous skin care

regimen with anti-acne products, such as Dermystique Tinted Blemish

Treatment Lotion, Dermystique Poly-Rejuvenation Lotion, and/or

Dermystique Advanced Action Formula.  Twice or three times a week,

apply a drying facial mask, such as Dermystique Soothe and Calm

                              Masque.
